*STARTING PAY +$100K* POSITION SUMMARY This position provides professional patient care services and health education activities in the field of family practice under the supervision of the Chief Medical Director and in accordance with laws of the State of Kansas; policies and procedures adopted by the Employer; applicable federal and state agencies’ procedures; as well as managed care contracts of which the Employer is a party.
POSITION SCOPE Financial Responsibility – None Staff/Supervision - None PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Achieve Results Provide professional patient care, health education and case management services in a manner that meets public health service standards, follows protocol and ensures best patient care.
Diagnose illness, treatment of illness or injury, management of chronic conditions, provide prenatal care, family planning, order appropriate laboratory tests, monitor results and prescribe appropriate medications.
Maintain Electronic Medical Records (charts) in accordance with established protocol.
Perform ancillary tasks as appropriate to training and as directed by the Medical Director.
The Nurse Practitioner shall be scheduled for at least forty (40) hours per week or as stipulated in contract.
Performs other duties as assigned Operational Excellence Attend regular and specific training and protocol sessions as directed by the Medical Director.
Be responsible for obtaining such continuing education as needed for optimum job performance and as may be required by law.
Provides leadership and guidance to all staff assigned as clinic assistants Relationships Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships within and among the agency staff, as well as with patients, vendors, members of the medical community, and related resources.
Stewardship and Professionalism Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
Uphold and ensure compliance with and attention to all agency policies and procedures, as well as the mission and values of the organization.
PRIMARY TASKS & DUTIES Provides family practice medical services including patient care, health education and case management services.
Ensure patients receive high quality care.
Follow all protocols, policies and procedures that meet public health service standards.
Diagnose, treat, and manage illness, injury and chronic conditions.
Provide prenatal care and family planning.
Monitor results from appropriate lab tests.
Prescribe appropriate medications.
Receive supervision and training from Medical Director.
Participates in meetings and training as required.
Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Medical Director or CEO.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES Highly knowledgeable through education and experience in rendering medical services in the field of family practice.
Ability to diagnose illness, treat illness or injury, manage chronic conditions, provide prenatal care, family planning, order appropriate laboratory tests, monitor results and prescribe appropriate medications.
Ability to effectively and positively lead others.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education Graduation from an Accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program along with a Master of Science degree.
An appropriate Kansas license is required – current and in good standing.
National Certification is required.
Must be able to speak read, write and understand English.
Professional Demonstrated “skilled” medical clinic or hospital experience.
Demonstrated “skilled” patient care, diagnosing, treating and managing illness, injury and chronic conditions.
Demonstrated “skilled” prenatal care and family planning.
Demonstrated “skilled” ordering of appropriate laboratory tests, monitoring results and prescribing appropriate medications.
Demonstrated success in cooperation with all agency staff.
Demonstrated success in computer operations Physical/Environmental Ability to interact with computer screen for up to six hours at a time (visual acuity required).
Must have manual dexterity for use of keyboard.
Ability to remain stationary for periods of up to four hours.
Ability to communicate via phone, mail and in person to resolve disputes, solve problems, etc.
Capacity to function in a stressful, multi-tasking environment Additional Requirements Position requires sufficient hearing level to effectively communicate with people directly or by telephone.
Moderate physical activity.
Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds, assisting with patients and standing and/or walking for most of the day.
Travel to satellite clinics as needed to provide patient care services While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain sufficient visual acuity to read, write and operate equipment.
Comply with all requirements of the organization’s corporate compliance program as approved by the Board of Directors All other duties as assigned
