Opthalmic Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician to join our team at Area Eye Center.
As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Your responsibilities will include performing various medical procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
Responsibilities: - Perform patient intake procedures, including obtaining acuities and medical history - Dispensing/Ordering Contact lenses for patients - Assist with patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of the optometrist - Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems - Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment - Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment - Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information - Collaborate with the medical billing department to ensure accurate billing and coding practices Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training preferred - Knowledge of medical terminology - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality - Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills - Ability to effectively communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
