SUMMARY/PURPOSE: The therapist works to accomplish the mission of the Parent Management Training Oregon (PMTO) program by providing the assessment, therapy, resources, and interventions necessary to create a strong family environment that will provide for the needs of the child and family served.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: * Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Addictions Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Counseling from an accredited college or university * Prefer Clinical Certification; LSCSW, LCMFT, LCPC • Licensed to practice in the State of Kansas ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Enrolls in PMTO training at time of hire.
* Completes all requirements to be certified in PMTO.
* Conducts initial and ongoing assessments to incorporate into individualized treatment plans.
• Includes family in individualized treatment plans that are periodically updated to reflect the goals of the family and child.
* Provides PMTO family treatment, adhering to and ensuring fidelity to the PMTO model.
• Assigned a caseload of 4-5 families, a minimum of 2 weekly sessions plus 1 coaching call.
* Provide thorough documentation of all sessions and contacts with individuals, families, and collaterals in electronic health record.
* Complete and maintain all program fidelity documents in a timely manner.
* Provides consultation to further permanency goals with children and families.
* Provides intervention and support for clients in crisis situations.
* Ability to work with the court system and follow court protocols including appropriate business attire, completes reports for court, participates in court proceedings when subpoenaed, including testifying.
* Assesses ongoing treatment and case plan goals and prepare to offer recommendations for reunification, termination of parental rights or other permanency options.
* Prepared to make recommendations for services needed for the child and family, including mental health and drug and alcohol services, respite care and supervised or unsupervised visitations/interactions.
* Responsible for creating maximum billable Medicaid hours and submitting necessary paperwork for Medicaid billing or maximum grant hours.
• Assists in monitoring the overall client satisfaction of the program.
* Meets with Supervisor regularly to review assigned cases and submits reports as required.
* Participate in team meetings and group supervision as scheduled.
* Participate in evidence-based model trainings and attain certifications as required.
* Reports critical incidents to DCF verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours.
* Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required.
Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
* Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
* Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
* Ensures clients’ rights are protected.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Mandated reporter • Receives training in trauma informed practice and incorporates knowledge in day-to-day practice * Ability to work flexible schedule.
* Ability to travel throughout the state.
* Understanding of family centered practice, genograms, ecomaps, and social histories.
* Understanding of the child welfare and state system for Family Preservation, Reintegration and Adoption Services • Family and individual therapy techniques * Ability to engage families and individuals in working relationships.
* Understanding of child and adolescent development • Must utilize leadership skills and develop a team approach with the staff team members assigned to provide service delivery.
* Must be open to evidence-based models of treatment and willing to be trained and incorporate in daily practice.
* Must be able to manage aggressive behaviors with clients.
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Consistently exercises discretion and independent judgment in performance of duties in conformance with applicable policies, procedures, statutes, rules and regulations.
* Handles multiple priorities.
