POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Dental Practice Manager.
They are responsible for a wide range of tasks in the dental office, ranging from patient care to administrative duties to laboratory functions.
The dental assistant position is the most flexible and varied in the dental office and requires a diverse set of skills: clinical, clerical, interpersonal, and technological and more.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Greet and speak to patients and their family; co-workers, and all staff appropriately.
Accurately maintain documentation in the patients Electronic Dental Record; vital signs, obtain patient history, medications, intake and confirming the purpose of visit or treatment.
Prepare operatories with appropriate supplies needed; maintain cleanliness of all operatories and stocking of all supplies needed in operatories; maintain any equipment such as intra-oral sensors/panoramic machine and sterilization equipment.
Preparing patients for exams, procedure set-up and clean-up, assisting dentist with all dental procedures, and walk out processes after patient treatment.
Oral and written interpretation and translation as required.
Central Sterilization.
Dispose of all bio-hazardous materials in the appropriate place, using expected safety measures.
Maintain safe, secure, healthy work environment by following and enforcing Standard procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Clean dental office as needed.
Follow HIPAA to maintain patient confidence and protect operations.
Responsibility for any equipment that is assigned/checked out to you.
Participates in all training offered by the organization.
Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by Clinic Manager, CDO or CEO

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED is required
Proficiency in English and Spanish written and oral communication.
Previous dental office experience is highly preferred
Dental assistant certified highly preferred
Current Class C driver’s license.

Additional Requirements
Position requires sufficient hearing level to effectively communicate with people directly or by telephone.
Moderate physical activity.
Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds, assisting with patients and standing and/or walking for most of the day.
Work involves considerable exposure to elements such as unpleasant odor and noises.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain sufficient visual acuity to read, write and operate equipment.
