We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive nursing care provided during the night shift.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of Mesa View Senior Living residents and maintaining high standards of nursing care.
This position is for night shift, 6:00PM-6:00AM.
Position is eligible for shift differentials.
Duties & Responsibilities: Supervision of Care: Supervise care delegated to other staff members working on the shift.
Ensure proper nursing procedures are followed and residents are provided with quality care.
Medical Administration: Administer selected medications and treatments not allowed to be performed by medication aides.
Responsible for medication ordering and reordering.
Ensure accurate narcotic counts and report any discrepancies to the Director of Nurses.
Assessment and Documentation: Complete monthly assessments on assigned residents.
Conduct initial assessments on newly admitted residents.
Document all nursing procedures, medications, and PRN prescriptions.
Report condition changes on residents promptly to physicians, family members, and the Director of Nurses.
Prepare and submit incident and accident reports.
Supervision and Leadership: Supervise direct patient care personnel.
Ensure adherence to individual nursing care plans and state regulations.
Monitor and report persistently unresolved problems related to prescribed diets and fluid intake.
Direct charting on the shift, including vital signs.
Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with attending physicians, family members, and the Director of Nurses regarding patient care.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote residents' physical and emotional health.
Participate in regular staff meetings and in-service sessions.
Continuous Improvement and Education: Stay current with new developments in the health field through reading nursing literature, attending conferences, and taking formal coursework.
Maintain compliance with City-County Health Department and State Health Department requirements for employment.
To be considered for this role, you must have: A high school diploma or GED Equivalent.
Active Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Texas.
Proven experience as a Charge Nurse in a healthcare setting.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to a changing healthcare system.
Commitment to continuous education and improvement.
Current BLS and ACLS certification required or ability to obtain at hire.
