Hemphill County Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Emergency Room Registration Clerk.
As a vital member of our healthcare staff, the Emergency Room Registration Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for patients seeking emergency medical care.
Responsibilities: Patient Registration: Greet and assist patients arriving at the emergency room, collect necessary information, and accurately enter patient data into the electronic health records system.
Verification of Information: Verify patient insurance information, identification, and other relevant details to ensure accuracy in the registration process.
Communication: Interact with patients, their families, and medical staff in a professional and courteous manner.
Provide clear and concise information about the registration process and answer any questions.
Adherence to Policies: Follow established hospital policies and procedures related to patient registration, confidentiality, and information security.
Collaboration: Work closely with other hospital departments to coordinate patient care and address any issues related to the registration process.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any challenges or concerns related to the registration process promptly and effectively.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Preferred: Previous experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role.
Knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy laws or regulations is desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
Familiarity with electronic health records systems is advantageous.
Certification: Must maintain CPR certification throughout employment.
Skills: Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to exercise initiative productively, especially during wait times.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in operating multiline telephone systems, computers, fax machines, copiers, and office equipment.
Shifts: This part-time position requires availability for 12-hour shifts.
Shift schedules will be determined based on the hospital's needs and may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
