Berry Tractor maintains a large rental fleet and provides repair and maintenance services on-site or in our well-equipped shop.
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our amazing team of technicians and service providers in Wichita.
If you have technical experience/service writing experience, and have worked for at least 3 years in a dealership setting, we'd like to get to know you!
Monday-Friday Day Shift
Responsibilities
Handle the daily operation of the Service Department.
Maintain an efficient, profitable, and organized department.
Provide quality service in a timely manner for both customer and company equipment.
Develop and schedule sales and expense budgets in cooperation with the Shop Foreperson and Branch Manager.
Capital expenditures will be forecast in order to maintain the various departments and assist in their improvement.
Lead employee performance and salary reviews annually.
Determine repair methodologies and job flows to improve the effectiveness, the efficiency and the customer happiness.
Develop and monitor performance standards and measurements.
Develop/maintain all service efficiency and management reports and reporting methods.
Maintain an adequate and appropriate staff of qualified, trained, and customer-facing service technicians.
Implement competitive compensation and incentive programs for all service job functions.
Oversee professional and technical development of the key department employees through outside training on an ongoing basis.
Responsible for supervising all direct reports and for providing these individuals with the guidance required for them to reach both their corporate and personal goals.
Continually monitor the progress of the department, and that of individuals in service group, toward the quality and profit goals.
Conduct regular (not less than monthly) meetings to compare performance with standards and goals.
Discipline service group personnel, within company policies, including termination, if necessary.
Establish and maintain customer contacts to ensure a good working relationship with customers and promote customer service work.
Responsible for all warranty service to insure fair and equitable treatment of the customer and the company.
Optimize warranty reimbursement from vendors.
Responsible for the condition of the shop including keeping the shop equipment (including vehicles) in good repair and maintaining proper housekeeping.
Align with all governmental rules and regulations (OHSA, EPA).
Qualifications
3-5 years management experience preferred.
Prior experience as a field or service technician preferred.
A team orientation with a strong sense of commitment to the customer and service team.
Personable, problem solver, a leader, ethical, intelligent and able to function calmly in stressful situations.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, other department personnel, peers and management.
