The Health Information Management Director is responsible for the maintenance and care of all medical records and for review and analysis of all medical records to ensure internal consistency and completeness.
Remote options are available for Kansas and Oklahoma candidates.
Job Duties: Supervises staff performing the medical records services function.
Supports the coding of diagnoses, procedures, and special treatments including support of the clinical documentation improvement program.
Ensures compliance with federal and state laws, our company and other applicable regulations related to Medical Records and reporting requirements.
Abstracts information from medical records for billing and quality improvement purposes.
Protects organization's and physicians' legal interests by ensuring medical records are maintained in compliance with all accreditation and governmental regulatory agency standards.
Compiles daily, monthly, and yearly statistics and reviews charts for completeness.
Serves as facility-based Privacy Officer; implements all HIPAA-related programs and processes.
Processes and manages admission and discharge records.
Performs quality management studies for Health Information Management Department and Medical Staff.
Ensures HIM operations are executed in an effective and efficient manner to perform within established budget.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelors in Health Information Management preferred Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience working in medical records, file systems, chart completion, personnel management and/or records management required.
Licensure and/or Certifications: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required upon hire.
