The health and wellbeing of our staff members and residents is our number one priority.
Our community is strictly following the CDC guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and has restricted community access in accordance with state and local health agency direction.
Our infectious disease protocols include but are not limited to: * Screening staff members at the beginning and part way through each shift.
* All staff members are wearing face masks at all times while inside the community.
* Staff members have access to PPE including gloves, face masks, face shields, and gowns, if ever needed.
* Our community is utilizing telemedicine as much as possible.
This ensures our residents are getting the care they need with as little risk of exposure as possible.
* As always, we are committed to transparency and will make all staff, residents, and families aware of any COVID-19 positive cases at our communities.
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is to provide direct nursing care to the residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants as assigned.
Supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Community; as well as what may be required by the RCC or Unit Manager to ensure that the highest level of quality care is maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities: * Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care Community.
* Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this Community.
* Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts services, programs, and activities.
* Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
* Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the residents total regimen of care is maintained.
* Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
* Participate in Community surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies as requested.
* Periodically review the residents written discharge plan.
Participate in the updating of the residents written discharge plan as required.
* Interpret the departments policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies as required.
* Administer professional services such as; catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc.

* Perform lab tests, blood pressures, and other routine monitored as required per the resident care plan.
* Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
* Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.

* Encourage attending physicians to review treatment plans, record and sign their orders, progress notes, etc.
, in accordance with established policies.
* Receive telephone orders from physicians and transcribe on the Physicians Order Form.
* Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the residents response to the care.
* Complete accident/incident reports per Community policy.
Submit to RCC or Unit Manager.
* Develop and maintain a good working rapport with co-workers and other departments within the Community.
* Review complaints and grievances.
Report these to the RCC and/or Unit Manager.
* Nurse report must be given and received when coming on and off each shift.
Job Requirements: * Must have a valid professional license (RN) that is in good standing with the State.
* Must have basic computer skills.
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
* Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
* Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
* Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
* Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds.
The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although hey may not be a requirement of the job.
