Job Title: Accounting Clerk General Definition: This position provides accounting and clerical assistance to the Finance Department.
Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization.
Supervision Received: Accounting Supervisor Supervision Exercised: N/A Essential Job Functions: • Audits and reconciles daily Cage/Vault, Electronic Games, Table Games, Tax Forms, Kiosks data, and reports any variances • Maintain Finance Department files and records.
• Enter information into accounting data entry system.
• Ensure the weekly disbursement for checks, wires and EFT’s are properly controlled and reported and the general ledger is properly affected; perform full disbursements process for multiple payment methods, entities and currencies.
• Perform revenue audit of various departments.
• Research problem invoices; interface with vendors, customer service team, and other appropriate staff to reconcile.
• Assist with month-end close and run monthly reports as required.
• Prepare and post deposits; balance deposits on bank statements.
• Prepare invoices, checks and other records and review for accuracy.
• Log, post and balance petty cash.
• Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to filing, photocopying, faxing, typing, and mailing.
• Assist with special accounting projects as needed.
• Provide appropriate accounting information to internal customers when needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: • High School Diploma or GED required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Intermediate computer literacy with specific proficiency in Word and Excel and willing to learn specialized accounting software • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts • Acute attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Commitment to excellence and high standards • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Ability to enter a smoke filled environment as needed Training and Experience: • Previous related work experience is preferred Licenses/Certifications/Other: • Must be able to pass a background check and receive/maintain a license or permit from the Shawnee Tribe Gaming Commission • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result This position has a rotating schedule.
Weekends and Holidays are required 40 Hour Work week with rotating days off.
